Rules and by-laws governing conduct in the Granite War Machine:

GWM Charter

We are the Granite War Machine.

We are people from Norrath who will help out our brothers and sisters with alcohol in hand. Our main principles are: to consume any and all alcoholic beverages, the improvement for the life of those around us, to have events that are both fun and beneficial, to uphold the honor of the Granite War Machine, and to drink as much as possible.

This charter contains the rules for the Granite War Machine, the requirements for membership and promotion to Officer, and the organization of the Officer Corps.

Rules of The Granite War Machine

* Each member is to have his/her Alcohol Tolerance skill maxed for their level. (Drink up)
* Each member must show respect for other members of the guild, our Allies, and all other citizens of Norrath.
(Role playing however is allowed and encouraged)
* Members should help other players, especially Granites and Allies whenever possible (within reason).
* We are NOT an uber guild, and begging will not be tolerated. There is a three strikes youre out policy. You get two warnings and on the third offense you will be expelled from the guild. (This covers begging for items, power leveling, etc.)
* Every Member will be required to pay a minimum monthly donation (MMD) once they reach level 30. The MMD should be made by the 15th of each month. The amount will be based on the level of the Highest character that member has in the guild. The money will be used to buy various supplies for events (i.e. components for spells, ale, prizes, and mead). It can also be used for loans towards a quest item (i.e. A young warrior needs help buying his Star Rubies for Crafted Greaves). Amounts are as follows: a) 30-39 = 10pp b) 40-49 = 15pp c) 50+ = 20pp
* Each member is required to participate in at least one guild event every three months or will be subject to expulsion from the guild (As to why you wouldnt want to participate I have no idea)
* Each member is to consume alcoholic beverages whenever possible and is encouraged to help fellow members in this task. After all, dont you want another Granite sitting next to you at an AA meeting?
*Each Officer is required to read (at least once a day) and post (at least once a week) at the Granite Message Board.
* Each member is required to read the message boards at least once a week and post at least once every two weeks
* We have a zero tolerance rule. Any member or Officer found guilty either by screenshot evidence or reliable witness of doing one of the following things will be removed from the guild without warning.
a) Pulling a train on to another player/group with the intent to kill that player/group. So dont do it.
b) Using extremely foul language in any public chat(/ooc, /shout /granitechat, /guildchat, ect.) will be exiled from the guild. So dont do it.
c) Any member or Officer found guilty of Ninja looting will be removed from the guild. So dont do it.
d) Kill Stealing or KSing is strictly forbidden and will get you removed from the guild. So dont do it.
Doing one of the things above is a disgrace and brings shame upon our guild, we pride ourselves on having the best reputation for fair play so please do not tarnish this by committing one of these vile acts. If you see a member (better not be) engaging in one of these activities contact an Officer right away. If the offending member is an Officer (better not be) please contact another Officer.

Raid Regulations

* There shall be three Rs that we shall follow when doing ANY raid. They are as follows: Respect for yourself, Respect for others, and Responsibility for ALL your actions.
* Raids are supposed to be fun and a time to bring the guild together. Remember this.
*All raids will have a Raid Leader and a Loot Holder. These will be assigned by the coordinator of the event. All loot (except for No drop items) must go to the Loot Holder for later distribution.
* All raids will be organized by the Level Coordinator and authorized by the Guild Leader.
* "Colorful Metaphors" are prohibited, unless you are expressing yourself, but that is only up to a certain degree (i.e. no cursing in game).
* All loot shall be given Need Before Greed (NBG). When an item drops and a member there (alts that aren't there do not count) needs it they are merited that item. If there are more than one person that needs it, then those members random 1 to 1000 on it and the closest to 1000 wins the item.
* Some raids will be geared toward getting a specific item for a specific member (Epic and Quest Items). When this occurs that member will be the first one to get the item when it drops. If another drops it will follow the same rules as all other loot.
* All Non-NBG items will remain with the Loot Holder and rolled on by all members at the end of the event, when everyone is at a safe place. If the Loot Holder is to run off with any of the items or does not give an item to a member that needs it or won it, will then be subject to expulsion from the guild and will be reported to a GM for Ninja Looting. Anyone who does not comply with any of these rules are subject to Expulsion from guild, possible account suspension, possible banning of account, severe spankings from all the high level members, reputation loss throughout many guilds, and/or sent to the Dungeon of the Guild Leader (Tis' a nasty place).
* You will not always get exp in raid situations. Exp is usually not the reason for a raid. Raids are fun little (sometimes big) events to either help out a guild mate or to just go learn a new area. So dont whine if youre not getting exp (waaa).

Membership Requirements

The Granite War Machine is always willing to consider new members to join our fellowship & beer drinking.

The requirements for membership are as follows:
* Must apply by application at the website.
* Must be at least Level 20. (This will hopefully insure the commitment of the prospective member to the character)
* Must interview with an officer of the guild. (Said officer shall insure that the prospective member is amiable, and has the granite it takes to be a member of the GWM)
Exceptions: a) Alternate characters of current guild members; b) Previous members that left the GWM on good terms that wish to rejoin; c) Alternate characters of previous members over level 15 who left the GWM on good terms
*Exceptions can join after an interview with an Officer, and approval of the Guild Leader.
*Each new member will have a month probation period, after this the Officer Corps will decide if the person is a Granite.

Officer Requirements

We hope that every member strives to become an Officer. Unfortunately not all will be able to do so as there are only so many Officer Posts available. The requirements for promotion to Officer are as follows:
* Show exceptional performance both in game and on the message board.
* A position in the Officer Corps has to be open. Either a new position is made or one that needs to be refilled for various reasons.
* Must be approved by the Officer Corps and Guild Leader

The Officer Corps sole job is to run the guild and help the younger characters with advice and information. The individual positions and their description are listed below:
* Guild Master (High Commander)- This person is the leader of the guild. They have final say in all guild matters. They are the ONLY one that can promote members to officer status.
* Second in Command (Lord)- This person handles various guild matters when the GM is unavailable.
* Webmaster (General) This person keeps the GWM website up to date.
* Event Organizer - Duties include organizing raids, brawls, and general events at least twice a month. On of these events should be geared towards all or most members of the guild. Extra events may be planned as needed (i.e. Weddings, Newbie events, New Years Party)
* High Level Organizer - Duties include planning raids and epic quest events for our 46+ members.
* Treasurer - Duties include holding the guilds supplies and cash. They are responsible for keeping track of dues.
* Guild Ambassador (Liaison) - Duties include being the point of contact between our Allies. They are also the guild representative for the Council of Guilds. They also recommend new Allies to the Officers.
* Class Leaders - The guild will be broken up into three separate class categories. There will be a leader for each category. Their duties include helping members with various Class specific problems. They are also there to encourage advancement. The Class Categories are as follows: a) Master at Arms - Warriors, Paladins, Rangers, Monks, Bards, Beastlords, Shadowknights, and Rogues b) Preserver of Wisdom Clerics, Shamans, and Druids c) Keeper of Knowledge - Magicians, Wizards, Enchanters, Necromancers

The Granite War Machine is dedicated to the better good of Tarew Marr. We are willing to drink with anyone at anytime.

We are the Granite War Machine;
Long Live The Granite War Machine!
